  1. I don't think the t top was an option for the uk, nor was the cyclops light. it does have the dual range tranny [manual 4speed]- wish I had fitted the hill holder parts from the Impreza as that was a great feature when I had the Imp
  2. the brat market is odd over here, last week saw one go for £600- rought as hell earlier I saw one up for £2995- bit better than mine body wise, and a few less miles £1700-2000 seems to be a sweet spot but it's really hard to tell- nothing ventured nothing gained I suppose
  3. piccy [this may not work!] http://picasaweb.google.com/christopher.gledhill/Brat?authkey=WtGaX_IRO50
  4. Hi all, have decided to finally sell my beloved mv/brat pick-up, only trouble is I can't figure what it is worth basic honest spec as follows 1992, 1800 carb, 70'000miles. spent its first 10years of its life in a no rust area of the country recently painted subaru mica green, full mot full new exhaust no rust apart from lower of front wings [of which I have a new spare pair] and a little bubbling around trim strips on doors bed has been stripped back and plated in all usual spots. starts first time, dead reliable- only trouble is I prefer bikes, and can't justify the wheels sat on the drive for 2-3 weeks a year it gets used. As we know the brat is unique in the fact that it is the only car profile 4wd pick-up around- as such they are hard to price! Help
  5. Hi, not a project for yer man there, but i have just dropped on a 150dollar 1990 brat, with cloth seats, 5speed box, diflocks! and a pair of mint front wings, I don't really need the car, so was thinking about making my 1993 into a long wheel base or long rear overhang like the northern europe models [then I can get my moto in the back [also a boxer] any thoughts
  6. Fixed the brake problem, handbrake caliper mechanism siezed £££, never mind £60 later and an exchange caliper fitted we have brakes again:) cheers for the help chaps:)
  7. nah I thought of that, but the main brakes are fine:confused:. I am gonna drop the caliper later today and have a stare at it, according to the haynes manual the mechanism contains a part [in the caliper] called a connecting link [looks to me like some sort of spacer]----- I am wondering if this has somehow fallen out or not been refitted after somebody has swapped the pads or sommat?? cheers for the help so far
  8. they stopped build on the brats in 89 i think, mine was registered in 93, so I assume it was sat around in a storage facility for a few year in the gap.
  9. yup, I reckon the caliper off is my next step...... the cable mechanism up to the caliper is fine, I think it may be the lever arm on the caliper that is causing the problem, but I am not sure how so far
  10. Hi all, my 93 brat has just failed it's MOT test on a RHS parking brake not working. got the thing home and had a look, the cable part is fine, but the lever arm is going right back to the stop [cable fixing point], yet you can still turn the disk by hand!, I have done some searching around but all I can find is posts on parking brakes binding, and non on the brakes not working help please
