  1. We got the radiator and a.c. condenser off but we couldn't figure out how to take the fan off that's behind the radiator... took 3 nuts off but the fan still won't move. Any ideas?
  2. I'm keep in the current fender and hood for now, and the bumper probably forever.I can straighten the arm and get a new cover easier than removing it. I'm already planning to attach the headlamp mostly with MacGyver type skills. Right now I'm focusing on function over appearance and I'll improve her appearance as I go.
  3. I'm planning to (now that I have it reshaped) take out the broken parts and check the rest, then pick up the new stuff and put it all in. Does anyone know if there is a way to improve impact resistance in that rail? Now that its been damaged, if anything else happens, it will just crumple again. I'm thinking about getting like flat steel bar and lining the rail with it, or filling the area behind the bumper and in front of the tire with a Styrofoam block. That won't do a lot, but it could help a little.
  4. She might not ever be a show car, but Sue is looking pretty straight these days. Still need a radiator, headlamp, and water pump.
  5. I got it to resemble a car again. We should be able to swap the radiator now and I guess I need a water pump too.
  6. Well, today is the day. I'll theoretically be straightening that rail (finally) and then I can see how bad the damage really is. Wish me luck.
  7. The only parts I still need to take off are the hood and bumper. I'm planning to cut the bumper off on the driver side then use the come along to pull it back. Then take off the hood and remove the bolts for the bumper. I already took the fender off. Other than that, I just need to swap the radiator I think.
  8. You've got less than 100k miles on that beauty? Mines over 200k now. But I only put like 40k of that on.
  9. 98. Its pretty well done. The back bends off to one side.
  10. Luckily, that posted 3 times.
  11. Yea. That's what I'm thinking. Especially since its all in the front 8 inches or so. I've been asking around. Just waiting to find a come along. I'm sure someone I know has one.

  14. Its only a little dented. If I can find a winch I'm going to try to pull it back mostly straight.
  15. The nuts are welded but you can still just undo the bolts. I just can't reach mine with any tools. The driver side is smashed so that's why but the passenger side is just inconvenient.
  16. Its really frustrating cuz I FOUND THEM and I just can't reach either with any tools.
  17. Yeah. Just gotta find a sawzall.
  18. Good news is I can get my hand in and touch the bolts on the passenger side. Bad news is I'm not sure how to get any kind of wrench in there. :/ I guess I'll cut it off (if I can find someone with the right equipment) and then remove the bolts. But I'm not sure how I'll get the one off at the pick n pull if I can't get a wrench in there.
  19. I might be able to get to the bolts on the passenger side without the radiator, but I think the wagonist is right and I'll need to cut the driver side then pull the bolts later. Anybody in my area able to give me a hang with the cutting? I definitely don't have any way to do that. Still looking for a winch to pull that rail straight too. Overall its looking like only the top and the first 8 inches or so that are even tweaked.
  20. It'll probably never be what it was before, but I'm not too worried about the tire eating monster she'll be. Does anyone know how to get the damn bumper off? I saw another thread that says its "easily accessed" through the engine compartment, but I've found the bolts and I can't reach them on either side.
  21. I'm in Oregon. And I got the hood up and fender off now. Here's a pic.
  22. Any chance you want to come over and help a girl out? Haha
  23. She really was. Classic blue, original paint... Her weather stripping was toast, but otherwise she was a beauty. Sturdy too. Drove to Vegas and took her off roading in the desert in November.
  24. I don't have collision coverage so what happens with Sue is up to me instead of the insurance. Probably gonna have to apply for a salvage title. I won't know til I get the fender off, I think. But there's definitely no damage behind the wheel.
  25. Mine are grey and match. Thanks for the info
