  1. Impreza 1993 , automatic , 4x4 , about 200.000 Km. From time to time (but it is getting more frequent) it squeases at any speed , at every turn of the wheels , but it seems to originate from the right back-wheel. If I put some pressure on the breaks (even without a real effective breaking still) the squeazing stops ; after leaving the pressure , it starts in few seconds again. Hanging brake pads ? Who had the same experience and could give me a hint ? thanks , Hendrik
  2. Ok , the very most simple solution for you is a push-button switch between the relay input of the startermotor and the battery postive connection. Every push-button switch for about 5 Ampere will do. And just put the 30 Amp fuse in between this connection to the pos. 12 volt battery conection. That will do.
  3. Seems what I had. RJ 18 , sometimes I had to fill on the way a gallon or so , sometimes everything fine. No real reasom why or why not. It was e tiny burst in the plastic upper material of the radiator. Only sometimes it opened. Tried with araldit and so on , for a time it worked.Later changed the radiator. The plastic enforced with carbon becomes in time like porcelaine , very hard and not more flexible.
  4. You could try this (it is for an "old generation") but the problem and solution is the same. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38952 succes !
  5. before you change : http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=112962
  6. Two weeks agoo I had the same problem , mecanic told bad pump. But by taking it out of the tank it was a bad connection between the pump itself and connecting connector. Takes 30 minutes to take it out and clean. I tested the pump with a bucket filled with water and a tire pression meter , left it for an hour on 12 volt and kept about 45 psi , that way. Build in , no problem anymore.
  7. Happened to me once , was the ignition switch with internal poor contacts. Opened it up and cleaned it. Should have contact resistance below 0,1 Ohm
  8. If somebody would mix it up with , for instance, one gallon of ATF, it for sure not any longer would have that critical flamming point ?
  9. I was just wondering : a brandy or whiskey might be even more dangerous in terms of fire danger... How are these liquids shipped ? Is it therefore that lately you get often it packed in an extra can ?
  10. Brazil is also a critical state..But there was a very friendly US citizen who send me a package. To get the thing rolling you sometimes have to forget borders. Same brand and equal problems does unify , is very nice with this kind of forum. Thanks to all.
  11. Different car , same principle , (mine 1,8 1993 , auto as well) Black smoke , black exhaust , lots of petrol. Changed 2 weeks ago one injector , now petrol is only going at half speed.
  12. Brushes in the starter motor , 20 $ replacement (I had it 2 weeks ago)
  13. Finally a follow-up after I received and applied the trans-x. I put it in around the first of february , since that time about 2000 miles driven. No change at all..... May be the lay-out and materials used are quite different from (my) 1993 design and the later ones , the ones , I see from time to time a with succes story on the board. The behaviour is like I told before : Car cold : no problem . (Cold , means still a tropical temperature of 30 degrees celcius....) Car driven for 30 minutes or more : no problem Just in between hot and cold , the delay in D , happens. (might be in between from 3 to 10 seconds) If it will stay like that , I can live with it.
