And a question I also had, after doing more reading I know I have the EZ30 block, but is this an open deck or closed deck block, I see supertech makes pistons that will work with a turbo set up but I don't know how much boost I could safely run with this engine and a 5 speed auto. And being from 2007 would this be considered the EZ30R engine? I know it's not an official subaru designation, but I'm seeing it a lot online and being new to this car I'm looking for any help I can get.

It sounds redneck as heck, but when I can't identify the place air is most likely to pop up tapping on the bottom of the system on up with a rubber mallet can help get rid of air bubbles. And there have been times when I've realized that a hose is on wrong or whatnot. Cooling is a complex system. And I'll say I got no experience on subies but I have a lot of experience on any American system you can name.

So I just got my first Subie, honestly it wasn't really the one I had envisioned but I hope it'll still be fun. It's a 2007 Tribeca with the 3.0. So I want to know really what mods are out there for this engine and this car? Tribecas seem to be the black sheep of the Subie family. I'm interested in everything I'll be honest I will have virtually no budget for the next year. I wasn't intending to buy the car now but a semi decided it needed to occupy my space on the highway and I had to make the call. But yeah, engine mods, suspension mods, engine swaps even, turbo kits, any of it. I can weld and machine, and I can write code, and do electronics. body and paint and interiors not so much. I have no access to equipment at the moment but if it helps me mod this car to work well at 14000 ft I can do it. Just help me understand what I can get into. I'm not trying to turn this thing into a baja 1000 racer, but I want to get a bit more than the stock car can give me. Any and all suggestions (aside from ditching the car and just getting a wrx) are welcome.
