  1. i have extended warranty on my 2006 impreza the only problem is it costs 115 bucks for them to read the test engine light and fix the problem. so i went to autozone for free and it said third cylinder miss fire could be plugs, wires or coil, so i did the kiss pricipal and changed the wires first after checking with an ohm meter found out the no.3 wire was bad. changed the plug wires and no more miss fire and it has lots of power. but i remember the stealership  swearing they did a tune up now i am wondering what else they skipped on.

  2. i hooked everything up like i was suppose to, except the wire for the power antenna, why did they call it that? should have been called antenna amp wire it would have made it a lot easier to figure out. any way hooked that wire bto the 12v switched wire and i get lots of stations now thank God for usmb i read through the different topics and found others with the same problem.

  3. so i found a wire with the ant connector on it but the radio only picks up local stations it is a thin wire it might be an aftermarket ant extension. there is also a big black wire that looks like a ground it is not a part of the plug in harness,i will try to trace it down to seed where it goes, the radio works without it as there is a ground in the plug in,i am thinking someone added it later as an auxillary ground.

  4. i am putting an aftermarket radio in my 2006 impreza it had a jensen radio in it but the p.o. took the knobs with him when i pulled the jensen out i got all the wires figured out and the new radio works except it won't pick up many stations i think it is the ant wire. the only wire i couldn't figure out is a big black wire that goes to a ground, but the radio works so i am not sure i will tinker with it in a little bit . and i am going to find out what bulb goes behind the tempurature gauge i am thinking a t5 . and i fixed the back door passenger side it opens and closes and locks and unlocks like it is suppose to. thank God for whiteys they had three 06 impreza at their wrecking yard. 26 bucks later  i had my parts.

  5. well it is close to 180,ooo miles and it is still running. the only problem i have had since then is the wheel bearing in the drivers side rear,it went out and my roadside assistance only paid for 25 miles(what the hello). so i fixed it at les schwab for 300 bucks. i think i will change the passenger side rear myself. by the time i get it into the dealer and have them diagnose it would be a lot more, damn insurance.

  6. i finally got the door open,it wasn't pretty but nothing is broken, what a pain in the rear. the problem is the latch assembly is toast, the stealer want almost 150.00 bucks for a new one, where can i find a used one? it looks like someone else tried to fix it and jammed the cheap plastic gears or what ever is inside. i am going to call larry h. miller where i bought the car to see if they can at least get the part for me it is still under warrenty or what they call a warrenty.

  7. it was the rear drivers side bearing it could move in and out at the top of the tire about 1 to 2 inches and the road side assistance only paid for 25 miles of towing and larry h miller was 67 miles away plus it would cost 100 bucks for the insurance company to come to the dealer to ok the repair and have the car sit for a week while they get the right parts i couldn't afford that so i had les schwab fix it for 365 bucks fat lot of good the "extra insurance" did me, damn . but it is fixed now it doesn't look that difficult i will fix the other side myself because if on side is bad the other can't be to far behind.

  8. i have road side assistance but it is only good for 25 miles and 20 bucks a mile after that and it is 67 miles to the dealer then it will cost 100 bucks for the deductable and they will take a week to fix it and i would have to pay for a rental and they would reimburse me eventually so since it is at les schwab in colfax they will charge 300 bucks to fix it and i can pay them next payday and it should be done tomarrow. i figured that was cheaper. why did i pay for the extended warrenty,it is a ripoff.

  9. found out what the rear noise was. the rear wheel bearing on the drivers side is going out, it started to make noise leaving work and it got bad  so i pulled into les schwab in colfax and they put it up on a lift and grabbed the rear tire on the drivers side and they could wiggle it around about two inches or so. i am going to call larry h. miller in spokane to see if they will fix it ...again. if they change one should they change on both sides?
