I just want to know people's opinion of oil for a 93 loyale. Been using 5w40. Works fine just want to know what you guys use or suggest. Thanks -Tanner

197k they didn't look to old but I do think I need to do the timing on it soon. I have this idle problem that feels like a misfire but I don't have a misfire or a blown head gasket. All plugs are good everything is fine so Im thinking I need to do the timing. Got the water pump replaced and everything back on with out having to take the timing belt off.it only took 3 days lol

Ended up getting the old one off and the new one on without taking the timing belt off or messing with the timing at all. Turns out it was the water pump hose that was bad so looks like I have a spare water pump for the future.

I've got all the bolts off of the water pump except for one of them which is blocked by the upper radiator pipe to the water pump which will not come put of the water pump for some reason. Have you done a water pump on a 93 loyale? It's different then the 90 and I wish I had the funds to ej22 swap it haha sadly I'm 17 years old and broke.

I shouldn't have to take the timing belt off since it's surpentine belt driven right?

I even had somebody that knows these old Subaru very well and he thought I was going to have to take the timing belt off but he looked and said I didnt.

The timing belt isn't in the way though?

I'm confused trying to replace the waterpump on my 93 loyale wagon I have taken off the fan and ac belt and the alternator and confused on what I need to take off next. This is the hardest water pump I have ever done, I have no clue what Subaru was thinking lol.

When I drive my car it seems to run a little hotter when I first start driving. After not warms up that is. The guage goes to about half or a little less then half and then after a little bit drops down to about a quarter or even like a sixth of the guage. Any ideas?

It wasn't low on coolent and was like a hose sprayed it out. It didn't overheat like a car does with blown headgaskets it was just a little warner than usual maybe a little more than a third of the way up the temp guage. Plus the way it sprayed everywhere isn't like a head gasket would.

That's what I was thinking but I really need a radiator pressure tester so hat any coolent leaks will show.

Was driving a Little while ago and noticed my car getting hotter than it should so I pulled over and saw lots of coolent smoke coming from my hood. I popped the hood and coolent was covering pretty much everything behind the intake manifold. Couldn't see any bad hoses but I don't really know the cooling system in this car. Any ideas? I need it fixed asap. Thanks!

I got a new radiator for my 93 loyale and don't know what year the new one I got is. Whatever it is needs a new lower hose and is the one with the angled neck for the hose? What year is that anybody know?

Thanks. No I didn't disconnect the wire. And I checked what seemed to be the right fuse but I will check them all to make sure.

I tried to install a new stereo and cut all the wires from the plug where the den is, tried saldering them to my new stereos wires and it didn't work along with my dash lights and power seatbelts not working. Any ideas of what wires are for what?

My loyale has all the sudden started to like nickle and diming me and now the power seatbelts wont work. I tried to install a new cd player in it and cut all the wires off from the old one so now there is a group of wires not connected to anything in the stereo den. Could something in there be doing it? They stopped working after I tried installing the new stereo unsuccessfully. Any ideas? -tanner

What year was the one with a diffrent angle? I'm looking at a radiator for a 1990 loyale for my 93 loyale

I figured out I have a bad radiator and need to get a new one. Are all year loyale radiators or all ea82 radiator the same or do I need to get one from a 93 loyale like my car is?

Also if I had a blown head gasket wouldn't I dump white smoke like cars usually do with a blown head gasket?

So if I drive my car and the overflow for the coolent rises I most likely have a bad head gasket?

Well I just turned my cat on with the radiator cap off and it's not bubbling I hope it's just the intake manifold gasket if anything more serious.
