i don't see that a solution to this door problem was offered, but I would like to raise it again. As 'lostinthe202' noted, my Ourback Wagon doors won't stay open unless the car is headed downhill or absolutely level. I call the car "The Amputator" because of the tendency of the door to slam shut just as you are stepping out ! The problem is dangerous, very inconvenient and obviously a design or quality control flaw. As usual, the dealers just shrug their sholders. Although I don't think I should need to, I'm willing to pay to have the problem corrected. However, I would like to know if a replacement for the 'hold-open' mechanism is likely to be an improvement or just a repeat of the original flawed mechanism. Does anybody have any experience? - it is apparently over the head of the dealer.
