A simple drain and fill is almost exactly 4 qts. But a drain and fill if you Remove the filter, and change it of course, you can change out 6 qts.- Losing 2 to 4 mpg with no reduction in performance.

2005 Baja sport- Is premature rear Brake(s) wear common on '05 Legacys / Bajas
Thanks All. I have been using the cheap pads in the rear. I've been using ceramic or premium pads on the front. Used to be that about 70% of the stopping fell on the fronts. Must be different on newer and/or AWD vehicles.- Is premature rear Brake(s) wear common on '05 Legacys / Bajas
I get about 50k on the Front Brakes. I've gotten between 20 & 30K on Rears twice. Just 13k in 13 months with New Rotors, New Calipers and New pads. Even wear, etc. It makes NO sense! I have NOT changed the "Fronts" in over 3 years. Anyone experience Similar. Thanks, In Advance- Thinking of buying BAJA good/bad input?
nitpikker247 replied to mkc1962's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI've owned an 05 Baja since 07. It's been Very, very good to me. Pretty user friendly for Preventative maintenance! MPG 20-28; I coast whenever possible.I get 50K out of my front brakes with an Automatic. I drive 11000+/- miles per year. Average driver would probably get 19-26 mpg. My daughter says that I drive like an old man. My only complaints are the body lines aren't parallel to the ground; so backing up is a little tricky(for me). And the keyless remote is designed inconveniently. Just AWKWARD. But that's a "Subaru" problem. I think you'll love the Baja though. It's basically a Legacy with a small truck bed.- abs light on
ABS light I cleaned all the sensors and the light stays on. The brakes have been working fine.- ABS light came on.
What to check.- Oil leak somewhere "Near" the oil filter
Thank you All. Will try to report. Hopefully easy fix- Oil leak somewhere "Near" the oil filter
2005 Baja Sport. I changed the valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals in May 2015. Oil was Slowly dripping from the oil filter. No oil stains, it drips on the exhaust and burns off. Strong smell when I'm at a traffic light (idling). New gaskets look good. Filter was tight; changed the oil and filter, just to make sure. The plate where the filter gasket meets is not damaged. It's Still leaking! Anybody have a similar experience?!- after market timing belt and water pump
nitpikker247 replied to BFCA's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI bought a Dayco timing belt and a Bosch Water Pump on Ebay for $185 total. That Includes All new pulleys and tensioners! Approx. $40 cheaper than any local Auto Parts Store with discounts. I replaced them in March 2014. Everything feels and sounds Ok. And I YouTubed the Replacement Procedure of both "Brainsmobile" and "Eric the Car Guy"; Incredibly Helpful ! God Speed- Uneven wear on All new Rear Disc Brakes
Update on the Uneven wearing on the Outside Rotor Face. I am not sure what has worked, but the Unworn face of the rotor is only about 3/16" or so. I took a narrow piece of wood and placed the butt end in the caliper opening on the back side of the brake pad as far to the outer edge as I could, and whacked it with a Small hammer to try to make better contact with the rotor. And I also tried to roughly follow abba4430's advice on brake bedding (Not to the letter though). Maybe the combination of the 2 helped the situation. Praying it will finally wear normally. Guardedly optimistic. Thanks All!- Uneven wear on All new Rear Disc Brakes
Thanks for the Zeckhausen.com advice. Will try and let you know.- Uneven wear on All new Rear Disc Brakes
