  1. ok i got a clutch kit at action auto in shoreline for $114.how do i put it in? i have a chiltons repair manual. but how do i get to the dang thing!? someone mentioned taking the engine out!!! i dont think i could do that ....
As a mechanic i would personal be takin the motor as well due to that the gearbox is hard to pull down due to the shape and placment of things in the tunnel. from past experences the motr is the most time consuming but its a hell of alot easier then trying to get the box out.
  2. first see if you can find a friend with access to a comerical account at carquest or the like...... then have them get a clutch kit for your car you will need

    make

    model

    year

    AT OR Manual trany,

The stupid counter person will also want to know if it has Air Condioning but it dosnt matter

and weather its a turbo or not...

    2wd or 4wd,

even if yoru going to have a shop do it try and go this rout for buying the parts becuase oyu can save yourself alot of money....

    Auto or manual?????????????

    Manual has a clutch

    AUTO HAVE A TOURQUE COVERTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hey mate

I live in aus but i can still help ya.

All ya need is a auto shop or a subaru dealer and ask 4 one.

It should come with a throw out bearing pressure plate and clutch disc.

U will have to remove the gearbox or even maybe the engine (depending on wat u wanna do)

And then u will see the clutch assembly.

BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY B4 U START.

If ya need any other help post a reply or email me @ Cams_scrutineer@hotmail.com

  4. U will have two seals on is the Rear Main seal which is placed around the crank behind the clutch, and a seal place inside the snout of the gearbox (snout is where the clutch bearing runs). Most probally it will be your rear main seal... But u will have to look more at the seals and I would do both while u r there.

  5. HI Guys and Gals,

I have an 84 EA81 Wagon and i am gonna be different and lower it not raise it but i have used all the adjustment on the front and on the diff but i makes a little difference but i still wanna go lower. Without cutting the springs has anyone got any ideas 4 me or has a set of lowered springs they wanna sell?

  6. I have noticed that when i take the breather tube off the right valve cover that a lot off blow by was coming from it when i pulled it to pour some sea foam down it with it running. So my question is what is the cause of this? the left side is fine. The T.O.D. is louder on the right side. thanks for the feed back

    BLOW BY ON SUBARU STANDARD

  7. How many km's did your rear diff have on it before dieing, did you ever thrash it much in 4wd and then later in rwd?

The rear diff only had about 2000 kms on it due that it was just rebuilt with new bearings and seals.

No i didnt trash the car due to i din't know wat would happen to the rear diff.

  8. I had removed my front shafts to run pure 4wd to only find that the rear diff isnt strong enough to cope with the stress of running contantly.

Unless we can find a away to strengthin the rear diff i personaly wouldnt do it again or ever again after the bill (parts only) i just recived to repair my rear diff.
