removed housing??? Well, I check the youtube vedio said, there is an wire connect the rear case and front when release the back rear case from the big part of the Transmisson. Did you mean that?? or ??

Hi ALL: My 1996 Legacy outback AWD wagon(2.5L AT) has binding problem, which need to replace "transfer case solenoid" for sure. Have this issue so for several years, plan to change and do this job by myself at end of this year and save money for chrismas. Have anyone done this job before or have any experience comments?????? My big concern!!!!!!! is, since the "transfer case solenoid" was located at the rear of the transmission. So should i need to pull the whole transmission(that big part) out ??????? or the rear t-case can be easily removed...???? Hope some one can give me some tips before i can get start. Thanks a lot.
