2010 cloth for leather seat swap question
GaryRI replied to GaryRI's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNot plug & play. The only thing missing was a power wire to plug into the "new" leather covered power passenger seat. Instead of jury rigging a power source I swapped the leather & foam seats (from the powered seat frame) onto my seat frames (that were fabric covered). Pretty easy. Did seat backs first then the bottoms. Found a utube instruction on taking off the back plastic cover.Took my son & I 90 minutes tops.

Transmission Flush
GaryRI replied to sadarahu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would never let Jiffy Lube flush an auto trans (again)! Doing so blew out the seals on an old truck years ago. Go to a dealership or a shop specializing in transmission work.

Brand new 2016 already rusting paint peeling off
GaryRI replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXRe: "...sealant could trap..." When you say only a month old I assume you bought it new. If so did you get it with any optional undercoating? That being so (new purchase) definitely complain to the dealer. Have you talked to the dealer yet? Depending how it's applied sealant could trap

Where to find replacement engine for 1999 Subaru Legacy outback
GaryRI replied to Leitah's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would go to www.car-part.com to get a notion of what a used engine near you would cost. It works well for the East Coast.

Question about synthetic oil and stiff steering
GaryRI replied to bluebird's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou should check your owners manual. My new to me 2010 Outback's owners manual doesn't spec synthetic fuel.

2010 cloth for leather seat swap question
I have a question about swapping out passenger side manual cloth for leather covered electric. I already swapped the driver side cloth for leather but my driver side had electric controls so I expected everything to work and it did. Before doing the swap I detached the battery ground. When I did plugged in the "new" seats everything worked. The "manual" passenger seats are heated and, of course, have the passenger detector/seat belt/buzzer control. MY QUESTION - can I expect all the electric motors to work when I plug the existing supply plug into the "new" (used) seats? Or am I going to have to take the cloth covers off the existing seats & replace same with the "new" leather covers?
