cars dead...... replaced the o ring in on the injectyor... stopped spewing gas... now it just knocks real, bad sounds like a bent valve or something... i guess its time to buy a new engine... heh... thanks everyone... im never touching an injector again!!!

i had the same size on my 91 legacy... worked fine... the speedo does say im going a lil slower... i just figure it helps me with the radar... better to be going slower then faster i guess.... only thing i hate about the blizzaks is that now i need new tires after one year... way to soft for how much i drive my car... best tires in the snow ive ever owned though!!!

it does this with BOTH the injectors (the original and the replacement)..... it didnt start doing this untill i switched the injectors... it started acting like the starter was out (turning the ignition and it just clicks) and then it caught after a while and ran at about 2000 rpms... then it startede clicking and before i coudl get to the key to turn it off... it died..... and now it knocks and spews gas?...... i

so i looked at the O ring on the injector and it did have a lil rip in it... so i replaced it... still has gas comming out the tail pipe.. and its making a horrible ticking noise....

but it looks SOOOOOO cool.... i think one of the reasons is the fact that some people hate imported cars... and they see the mustang as AMERICAN... thats just one of the reasons though... theres plenty more..

all the seals seem to be in good shape though....

the code told me the number one injector wasnt working... so i switched it. and it made no difference... so i switched it back.. and it wouldnt start.. then it finally did start and it KNOCKS really loud... oh and the best part.. now it shoots gas out the tail pipe... i have no clue where to even start? all this is steming from an idle problem... i love my car but it seems to hate me? i pulled codes 22 and 14 anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong?

thanks everybody.... the only thing i was worried about was the strut in the rear looks like it will rub on the bigger tire... i just wanted to double check...

whats the biggest tire you can put on a stock legacy? i have a 91 legacy wagon... the reason im asking is i found a pretty good deal on some studded snow tires... im pretty sure the size is something like 195/75-14... they look to big but i just wanna double check... thanks

ok.... i switched out the #1 injector.... NO difference... hmmm? now im stumped..... im gonna try the codes again tomorrow morning... see if it brings up something else... anyone got any ideas on what it might be?

ok after spending 30 mins trying to undo someones wonderfull maskingtape job to keep the connectors hidden from my fat fingers.... i ran a code check and came up with 12.... and 14... i just replaced the starter so im not worried about that i dont think... so i guess ill see about replacing the #1 injector and see what happens then? unless somone can give me a better idea? well im off to the suby yard to see about returning some parts i didnt need... thanks josh and colorado....... thats a very helpfull site you got there... and your car is OHHHHH so clean.... looks good

DOH!!!! sorry its a 91 legacy with a 16v so whatever motor number that is?... also i was told that autozone might have the decoder thing and that it might be free to hook up and check? does anyone know about this?

im a newbie so how do i pull the codes?

my car has the check engine light on and a slight miss at idle and an annoing ticking sound when the car is in gear.. the tick goes away when its in neutral and when its on the road..... i did a search and found this topic.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28950&highlight=idle+miss and it mentions the egr solinoid maybe being the problem im pretty new at working on my car and dont quite know where everything is... so im wondering where the egr solinoid is located... ive already replaced the plugs and wires.. checked the coil.. switched some sensor that mounts to the back of the intake (i hope thats not the egr solinoid) and my next guess would be the o2 sensor?... any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks
