  1. I was changing out an axle on my XT6 and I noticed the swaybar bushings are about shot, the ones that attach to the lower control arm. Over on XT6.net there was a listing for a source for poly bushings but since XT6.net is gone I was wondering if anyone remembered the name of the source. Please let me know. Thanks.
  2. Well finally got it running this weekend. I did a compression test and found that I had zero pressure in cylinder #2. I removed the valve cover and after looking things over I discoverd that one of the rocker arm closest to the front of the engine was not seated properly on the valve stem. The rocker arm has a slot in it for the valve stem to go into, this one had the valve stem sitting on top of the edge not down inside the slot. This caused the valve not to fully close. I pushed the rocker arm towards the front of the engine and click it fell into place. I started it up and it ran great. Now I will have to wait and see if my reseal of the cam cases don't leak anymore.
  3. Craven, That's what I did, I edited my original post. Anyway I'm going to try the finger in the #1 spark plug hole to find TDC, even though the plate has the marks maybe mines at 6 degrees too.
  4. I am having the exactly the same problem with my '88 XT6. I line the flywheel up to 0 degrees and insert the distributor with rotor pointing to #1 wire position on cap. The car runs, barely, sounds like it's running on 4 cylinders instead of 6. I'll give the finger in #1 plug hole trick a try and report back. I hope this works.
