  1. Thanks, But I like keeping my build stuff on my own terms. Too many people there, and other places expressing their "opinions" on how I should build my car. I came here to get some help/insight/pointers into the H6 install on my buddies rig. And if I run into any issues with my WRX setup. To look, listen, and learn... (and ask questions)
  2. Hello, Id love to hear from anyone that has made an install of a 4 or 6 cylinder Subaru into a non OEM install. The fuel system has quite the collection of items in it. The person I'm doing this for only wants to run a basic tank, and high flow pump. How does one bypass all of the other fuel tank stuff without issue? The fuel pump relay is needed (No Problem) A - fuel pump is needed (No Problem) Fuel temp sensor? a way to bypass this, or replace it? Im thinking of using a GM - 2 wire fuel temp sensor mounted into an aluminum block. Fuel sub level (reserve sensor) a way to bypass this, or replace it? Either do not use, or use a motorcycle reserve bathe sensor. Atmospheric solenoid should be OK its in the engine bay (usually) Pressure control solenoid???? Location????? Replaceable??? on engine Im guessing Fuel tank pressure sensor???? Location????? Replaceable??? on engine Im guessing Internal pressure solenoid???? Location????? Replaceable??? on engine Im guessing I'm going to be using s stock VW beetle fuel tank. So the idea is to use a 255lph fuel pump, and pressure regulator. Any thoughts / experience on this???? This H6 is going into a VW bug chassis or sand rail. So its bare bones.
  3. Decent car for a starting point. I wonder where He/She is on it now. These projects have a tendency to take decades to complete. Ive increased my rear track to 66" and 63" in the front, using the porsche bits. Im in the middle of soldering the JDM ECU into the USDM harness. Its about 180 wires in all. Then I have to relocate all of the engine and transmission plugs to the rear of the car. Id post a couple of the photos I have, but this site says it does not allow one drive photo links.
  4. Nice Sterling! Ive got one as well here in Western Washington State! What is your body number? Have you met with the sterling FB group?
  5. Hello, I know this is a Subaru forum, and in at least part I can play. My car is not a Subaru, however, it is powered by a JDM EJ205 Subaru engine, it has a Subaru shortened and flipped diff transmission, and a Subaru electrical system from a 2003 WRX rally car. However, from there the Subaru parts end there. It uses a VW beetle pan with Porsche 944 turbo brakes and suspension. 300mm drilled and slotted disks, with 4 piston calipers all the way around. The motor has a divorced 3" exhaust with cat-less up pipe, and a xforce muffler. Total exhaust length is 3.5 feet. Intake is a direct ram air fed, true cold air intake system. It feeds the oversized 16G turbo, and liquid cooled charge cooler. Too much to list really. All in all, total package is 1450 pounds, and puts out 350hp. This is still very much a WIP. sry links to one drive not allowed here is my outdated build blog http://ydeardorff.wixsite.com/sterling-gtr-project
  6. Hello everyone, After having dug on this subject for days across countless forums, I am trying to get a little help. I am installing an JDM 99-03 EZ30D engine into a friends dune buggy, and have a 4E computer with pigtail. What Im needing is an engine harness from the ECU to the engine connectors. i have found an 03-05 ECU (6P) with its full harness on fleabay. Could that harness be used if I solder in the new plugs from the 4E computer? I have the JDM wiring information found here: http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/Legacy%20Outback/2003/Service%20Manual/ Having another project of this same sort installing a JDM WRX engine into a kit car, Im familiar with whats involved. Seeing the harness'es created here, Ive been inspired, and am wondering what are my options. Could a USDM engine harness be used? will the plugs fit between model years? Let me know! Thanks in advance!
