I've been chasing wires all day looking for something broken or disconnected to no avail. I'm about ready to get rid of this thing.
-
The only bad ground I could find was that one and I attached it to a bolt on the tranny case. I also replaced the coil pack.
-
So far have replaced, knock sensor, timing belt, crank positioning sensor, ecm, ignition control module, plugs, wires, throttle positioning sensor, injectors 3&4 and still can't get spark. Very upsetting.
-
It just cranks and cranks but not turning over. Day 5 of troubleshooting. Very irritating

Going to use a buddy's ecm from his ej22t to rule that out
-
I went by the lines not the arrows
-
All of the wires are fine down by the battery. Tracked them to where they connect and see no issue
-
I can look tomorrow, is it near the intake manifold on the back of the engine or..?
-
Ignition control module possibly? Seems like the only piece that controls spark that I haven't replaced so far.

*edit* didn't mean to doublepost

3 hours of work tonight, multiple more during the parts replacement yesterday and the day before. I don't even know what to do at this point.

I set the timing perfectly all hashmarks at 12 a clock and it still only cranks and cranks no start. Very upset that my 3 hours of work and tons of parts replaced in vain. Once I finally get this thing started I'm grandma driving for awhile.
-
Do the hashmarks have to line up perfectly? If not it looks like I skipped one or two teeth
-
Yeah I won't be pulling anything like that again

I'm removing the full cover today. Gotta get my radiator out first
-
Is there any posts instructing how to set the timing? After inspecting my belt it seems solid.

This is the only ground I could find that was not attached to something. Where does it go? I tried to find where it's supposed to lead to but I couldn't find it

Update, I replaced the Knock sensor, crank positioning sensor, throttle positioning sensor, ignition coil, and every relay in the box. Checked my timing belt and it's still new looking. It still won't get spark in any cylinders. I tracked down nearly every plug and wire to see what could have happened. I found one bad ground coming off the middle of the firewall but couldn't find where it went to. So very stumped about what is going on.

Thats why I did it in gravel and dirt. Still a bad idea nonetheless, I'll look again at the main plugs near the battery in the morning. I got an offer for a 2001 suburban with 165k because my buddy is a subaru fanatic so that's something to look into. Running and driving truck for a non running bru. The subie is just awesome though
