I recently replaced the timing belt on my 2010 Outback. After reassembling everything, the timing is off. Due to my inexperience and lack of videos on the web, I think I didn't set the timing right. I didn't mark the cam pulleys before I removed the old belt. On the left cam there is nothing to signify where to line up the pulley. On the right cam are two marks, one red and one white. This cam has a notch in the back side of the cover to line up with. What I'm trying to figure out is how to properly set the timing for this engine. As I said, it's a 4 cylinder 2010 Outback with what I think is a SOHC EJ25. It's only a little rough idling. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can set the timing belt on this engine?? How do I start from scratch to get everything lined up?
