I noticed the superb engineering on the FF1 back in the Eighties and saved about 7 of them from the scrapyard. I built a mid-engine monoposto and it's my daily driver plus autocrosser.

  1. Hi Paul, I'm back on USMB so I can track your stuff as you pick through your stash. Thanks for the tip on how to get back on the site. I'm sure we'll talk at some point but I'll let you have some peace for the time being. But I'm eagerly anticipating your bits - Many thanks! Van Baehr
  2. Thank you, Guys, for considering my precarious situation. I decided to look a bit deeper into my stash of engines and I see that I have 3 EA62's which are quite a bit sportier and higher revving. Flushing them all with solvents and oil down the sparkplug holes and lots and lots of cranking managed to bring the compression readings up pretty well, even after I rinsed the oil off the rings with more solvent to avoid overly optimistic numbers. So I may be in reasonable shape for future engines! But I'd sure appreciated it if you kept me in mind as you unearth any engine parts for these old wet-sleeve engines. And best of luck with your projects too, eh, Regards, Van
  3. I am looking for FF1 engines in very good shape, or even NOS. I built a mid-engined single seater for a daily driver and for weekends at the local track. I need a strong engine. I have half a dozen in the back yard but they are all of unknown condition. I really don't want to blow up the 1.1 liter that I'm currently using! Thanks, Van Baehr
