Have replaced stock air filter with a K&N, and in this area an '87 EA81 doesn't need a cat, so had an oversized exhaust built without one. Power and gas mileage improved - not a whole lot, but enough to feel the difference.

I cleaned out all the rodent stuff by using a high pressure hose to blow into the outside vents while I had the fan going and vacuumed with a narrow hose from inside. I used "Fresh cab" rodent repellent in the cabin and under the hood until I could finish all the cleaning and get it running. It took a while, but they haven't been back. The local professional carpet cleaning company guaranteed a product to remove any smells/stains, and after a lot of wasted elbow grease I paid a local detail shop to have at it (carpet and under the hood) until it was clean, and it worked. Using poison will pretty much guarantee that the critters will crawl into spaces you'll never find to "perfume" your Soobie forever.
