  1. I am having a problem with the car flooding after running. I can run it and it runs great but if I shut it off it won't restart after a couple minutes. I pulled the plugs and the cylinders are full of fuel. I pulled the vacuum line off the fuel regulator and I'm not getting any fuel in it so I believe the diaphragm is good. I replaced the fuel pump earlier and I'm wondering if it is too high of pressure. I have looked and can't find the fuel pressure specs for this car. Does anybody have any ideas?
  2. Weirdest damn thing. I tapped the fuel regulator/distributor and the damn pump kicked on. Cranked for 10 seconds and she came to life! First time she has run in 15 years. A little out of time but that's an easy fix. Thank you for all the help and I am sure I will need more before she is road worthy.
  3. I lifted the carpet on both sides when I had the seats out. the only wiring was for the seatbelt chime. I have searched online for pics so I know what I'm looking for but can't find a reliable pic. What does it look like?
  4. I carefully marked all the wiring when I took it off and am confident it is all back together the way it came off. The only thing I did was disconnect the fuel pump at the pump when I was troubleshooting the no spark to keep it from running every time I turned the key on....
  5. I have a couple wiring diagrams that showed a fuel cut off switch is the reason I was looking for it. I had an older camaro that would trigger the cut off switch every time I disconnected the battery. I do not have anything under the seats, I actually pulled out both front seats and pulled the seat bottom off the back one. I can see the wiring coming from the pump going through the floor under the back seat and I can follow it to the door rail but that's it without tearing it all apart. I get the signal coming back from the ICM to the coil so shouldn't that also trigger the fuel pump? I am at a loss at this point, none of the components seem to be where they are supposed to be. The car is bone stock and was purchased new by my grandmother and garaged after her death in 99 with only routine maintenance.
  6. The Subaru saga continues. This car ran great and was garaged for 15 years and I am trying to get it back on the road. It is an 84 turbo 4wd coupe. I replaced the fuel pump and it worked perfectly but had a no spark situation and I traced it to the ignition control mod in the distributor. I replaced it and have spark now but I don't have power to the fuel pump now. The wiring diagrams show a fuel cutoff switch that is under the dash but I have spent hours going over everywhere and cannot find it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Thanks it only took 2 hours to get to it.. Lol I really appreciate your help, if you ever get this way I owe you a beer.
  8. Thank you but here is the dumbass question... Where is the O2 sensor on this thing. The book shows it on the manifold on the pass side but after an hour of looking I can't find it anywhere without removing a bunch of shields. I have followed the exhaust from mid car to the downpipe and it disappears under a shield that looks like a pain to get to the bolts to remove it.
  9. This is the last wire that was chewed up by the killer mouse. It is thick black insulation coming out of the harness with a white plug attaching to a light green wire that is about 10" long where it was chewed. I have searched every diagram I can find and crawled all over the vehicle looking and cannot find where it attaches. It comes out of a harness under the spare tire holder, the fingers in the picture are on the starter for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess it would help if I added it's an 84 GL 4wd turbo.
  10. Thank you. I have hooked up and repaired the others just those 4 were a mystery. They don't show up on any wiring diagram I have seen. Thanks again.
  11. I am getting my Grandmothers car running that has been in a garage for 17 years and mice have chewed several wires. I am having trouble locating the termination points for several of them. They come out of the harness beside the vacuum valve differential lock and I am sure 2 of them terminate there but I have 4 that I have no idea and have spent hours researching without any answers. The color codes on the remaining wires are GY,BW,BR,B. I am pretty sure the other R and B go to the valve. Thanks in advance.
