  1. pshh, I have no idea. All my mechanic told me is that the sensor itself is fine, but the harness needs to be replaced. Are they both considered part of the harness?
  2. Hi guys! I need to replace the harness for my knock sensor on my 96 legacy outback. What do you all suggest? Should I just go to a junkyard and look around? Anyone have a spare they don't want? (Obviously I know nothing about this, so any advice would be great.) Thanks!
  3. yes!! it's all fixed. Thanks for everyone's help...the lower trim panel refused to come off, so I finally just gave it a good yank and cracked it a little bit. Doesn't matter, you can barely tell now. And then I encountered problems later when my stupid screwdriver wasn't cooperating, so I took a trip to Home Depot and got myself some real Stanley screwdrivers, and that did the trick. Thanks again!
  4. Thanks, but the bottom console won't come out. It seems to be held in by hidden screws.
  5. Hi, I am trying to install a radio on my '96 Outback. So far the top center trim panel came off very easily, but I cannot get the lower trim panel off. Are there screws holding it in? The manual does not say anything about them. It seems like the area around the cigarette lighter is fastened in. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi all! My radio/cassette player just decided to stop working--something about the motor breaking? So I'm guessing the cheapest way to get a new one is at a junkyard. Is installation pretty simple if I get another Subaru unit, or should I cough up more money to get it installed? Thanks in advance!
