  1. I haven't done a voltage drop yet. thanks for the tip! Probably would have saved some time if I'm understanding the idea correctly as it doesn't seem like the switch is corroded. Need to find the ground for the turn signal switch I guess. I did get down to the turn signal switch and manually bridging (on a clean surface) the little circuit gaps that the slide mechanism closes when flipping the turn signal stalk does nothing. However, grounding the horn peg to the steering bolt does sound the horn. The stop lamp bulb is still on. Here are a few wiring diagrams I found. I'm not good at reading these things :-( . I am using a test light btw. the green/red, green and green/yellow wires with the little gaps between are what I'm talking about bridging. I'm really hoping that wiring diagram might lead to a solution. Looking at it as someone who doesn't really know what they're looking at.. it seems important that the stop lamp warning light is on but the brake lights all work perfectly fine and only the hazards/turn signals are a problem. I'm just guessing though. I welcome any advice!
  2. I suspect there's corrosion in the turn signal switch.. from what I understand, the horn goes through that same switch and when I peek into it from the left side of the column it looks pretty nasty. Will update tomorrow after pulling the wheel and attempting to clean it up. edit: turns out the actual electrical switch for the turn signals is located on the opposite side of steering wheel from the turn signal stalk. The nastiness I referred to on the stalk side was just a bunch of lithium grease and doesn't have any effect on the actual electric turn signal switch from what I can tell.
  3. I've searched the forum extensively but haven't found anyone with this particular issue. This '91 Loyale has been sitting for about two years. It was running fine prior to its long rest but now that the battery has been replaced and its up and running again, the following issues have cropped up: Turn signals don't turn on Hazards don't turn on Dash turn arrow indicators do not illuminate when flashers ought to be on The flasher relay is not clicking The 'Stop Lamp' dash light is lit (but brake lights and headlights are fine) Horn doesn't work Here is what I've done to try to solve the problem: replaced flasher relay (no change, no power getting to the line per the test light) replaced all hazard/blinker bulbs (no change, still no blinkers, 'stop lamp' still lit on dash) tested all fuses in box and the four fusible links under hood (all were fine, the hazard/horn/clock fuse is fine, clock works) I'm at a loss as to what to do next other than dig further into the dash and to trace the flasher wire back further (not fun). Prodemand is not helpful. Please ultimatesubaru, you're my only hope!
  4. So I did the responsible thing and checked my finances (I just purchased the big project car off marketplace, a clean turbo loyale wagon that I’m going to be feeding parts to from my original worn out 5 speed loyale) and I only have about $1k in total max spending cash right now left over. :-( I don’t want to insult you and I don’t know how much shipping would be but google tells me anywhere from $100-250 for sets of smaller rims and tires depending on the method. If you’d rather hold onto the tires would you perhaps be open to the idea of parting out just the rims?
  5. What a shame. That’s a beautiful build! Yeah, I would be totally interested in rims and the tires. Without factoring in cost of shipping how much would you let them go for? They’d be going to a loving home lol. I could do PayPal friends and family or whatever you’re comfortable with if the total cost is feasible.
  6. Hey! Long time lurker here that finally created an account. I just came into possession of a super clean '90 always-on AWD turbo 4 speed AT Loyale. I've owned a non-turbo '91 toggle AWD 5 speed Loyale for years and I love it but it has a few problems that are stacking up and is just generally in much worse shape than the turbo wagon. The original Loyale has 200k and is pretty tired at this point but the transmission was replaced not too long ago and installed along with a new clutch. Anyway, I'm considering swapping the 5 speed transmission into the turbo wagon that is in much better shape. I know there are several things to consider including: - I'd have to swap over more than just the tranny because the turbo models have a different number of splines than the non turbo. Obviously I also need to install the pedal and related clutch parts. - the gear ratios are slightly different in non-turbo MT's than the seemingly super rare turbo MT's (3.7 non turbo vs 3.9 turbo?). I dont really know how to conceptualize this difference as I know next to nothing about transmission gear ratios but I've read that I will need to switch out the rear axle/diff. - the AWD toggle wouldn't be functional as the turbo wagon is always on AWD - the instrument cluster wouldn't be quite right as the automatic position indicators wouldn't be necessary and the 'POWER' light wouldn't have a purpose with the MT. Not a big deal. Is there anything else I should consider with this specific type of swap? Will I have to deal with perpetual check engine lights or problem lights given the instrument cluster isn't going to be happy with the manual transmission? I've read through a great number of threads about swapping between non-turbo models but only a couple where the person is doing this particular swap. Thank you so much for any wisdom you might be able to share and thanks for all the guidance provided by everyone here over the years.
  7. I would LOVE to buy the peugeot wheels off of you if you wouldn't mind shipping them to WA. Do they look damaged/do you think the rubbing is due to wheel damage or axle/front end damage? So sorry for your loss. P.S. It might be a problem on my end but the photos seem to broken and are just displaying as a small '?'
