  1. Update: I found that the buzzing noise is coming from the blower motor Relay beneath the dash. If I unplug it it stops, and if I swap the relay with a neighboring one that relay will still buzz. So the relay itself is fine. http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/pdf/engine/ljac.pdf This shows a breakdown of the plug that I crossed wires on. 5 & 6 positions are what I crossed to make the AC work again but what each wire actually does doesn’t seem to make sense why that would work any thoughts?
  2. Howdy everyone, long time lurker, first time poster! I have a 1991 Loyale. The A/C worked when I bought the car last October but now it doesn’t. The AC will cycle for about 10 seconds when AC or Vent was selected then it would stop. This lead me to believe this was the belt protection system triggering. I re-tensioned the belts to no avail. So I by passed the BPS by jumping the wires behind the glove box. (Rd/blk & rd/grn have been cut and attached to eachother). Now my A/C works great! the only trouble is one of the relays under the driver’s side dash squeal when the HVAC is in the OFF position and it appears the AC clutch continues cycling for a bit after being turned off and then cycles seemingly randomly after that. It also seems to cycle in HEAT and BILEV mode too. if I ignore the squealing relay it stops after a minute and I can get it to stop quicker if I cycle through HVAC settings. But it always comes back after 10-20 minutes or so. I also noticed the blower weakly blows while in the OFF position while this relay is squealing and the tone of the squeal changes as with the fan speed settings. did I not bypass the belt protection system correctly or is something else wrong? Perhaps the blower fan relay is going bad? Was the ground of the BPS not supposed to be entirely cut off? PS there are three relays under the dash in a row and I believe it’s the furthest left (driver’s side) that is making the squealing noise.
