  1. I would love to buy this tranny, just not sure the shipping to canada, Im in desperate need. Cant find nothing here in ontario for an automatic tranny.
  2. Great, Thats what I was expecting. Do you think someone will actually buy this car witha tranny starting to go. I was hoping about 2000$ canadian.
  3. Was just wondering what i could sell my car for. In good Excellent running shape besides my Friggen transmission. Abs is not hooked up and I also have a cracked windsheild. 200,000kms. I was just going to sell it for cheap. What do you guys think I should do I have put way too much into this car already. last i was almost 4000$ in tranny work. Just not worth it to do it again unless I find a cheap tranny. Which in can is hard to do, specially for a turbo suba. and Automatic, and ideas? Or anyone got a tranny they want to sell. lol
  4. So have you heard of thoughs syptoms with a loose band or know of any others.
  5. OK. I checked in my service manual about the brake band. It says to turn the screw 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise if these symptoms are happening. And this matches the desription to a tee pretty much, Jolts when shifting from 1st to 2nd.- engine speed udruptly arises from 2nd to 3rd, -shift delays in kickdown from 3rd to sec- car slips from 1st to 2nd. I need to put the car up on stands and turn this damn screw, Hopefully this is the fix.
  6. Have not adjusted the bands. Dont know where there are. What do the bands do? When cold the tranny will still slip in the first gear just when taking off. Once your going it is fine. When warm it is just a little worse. Just in the fist two gears though. Whe shifting from first to sec it doesn't want to seem to engage. It just takes it time. Revs out then goes in to gear. After these two gears the rest are fine. It seems like once it builds up enoguh pressure it is fine. But still what do the bands do?
  7. And also--Steps to remove the tranny filter on my 92 legacy with turbo.
  8. But it only slips giong from park to forward or rev. after the tranny is warmed up. when it is cool it is fine. Any ideas? But once I am moving I can step on it or do whatever and it works fine.
  9. I was just wondering what some differents symptoms would be with a dirty transmission filter. I have a 92 legacy and it only slips when i give it 100% throttle from a stand still. After I am moving I can step on it and tranny will be fine.
  10. great guys thanks for all the info. Hopefully soon i will get the time to check it out.
  11. My sunroof has been leaking for a little while now. It first started working on and off, now my sun roof doesn't work at all. I have a feeling all the water caused corrosion around the wirning going to the motor for the sun roof. Before if I hit the roof it would work. Must have just been moving wires around and eventually it would get a good connection. But now there is nothing. Any other ideas. And I eventually will tear my roof apart to visually see what the problem is. Does anyone know how long this job usually takes. I took a look to see what is involved in removing the ceiling and it doesn't look like much. Is that all there is, is just a few srews?
  12. Had my car in for the E test today. Passed with no problems. I was soo happy. 240,000 km, I was pretty worried about what was going to happen with the test. But can never look down at a subie thats for sure.
  13. any ideas where to find a good used auto.tranny, or how much is a good price, the cheapest i have paid is 800 cnd. And that was from a wrecking yard. I think gave up the thought of converting. haha.
  14. wow that is crazy. Lots of work. And how long have you been a mechanic. lol. You know lots. Im impressed. Im just a first year automotive tech. student. I read a part in the journal about the ecu for a 1992 being the same for AT/MT. Would that mean I wouldn't have to touch my wiring, since mine is a 1992 w/turbo? And would that be a lot less work for a swap? And what about axles and rear diff? Is the tranny still the same length. I noticed you upgraded a lot of other parts. If I am just swapping tranny's is there any other parts that I would have to swap?. Thanks for all the info.
