  1. Hi all! I just found out today that the steering rack in my 1986 L-series wagon is toast - excessive play to permit a wheel alignment they said - I'll check the wheel play tonight against the specs... It actually feels tighter to drive than my Brumby... oh oh! Anyway, expecting the worst ;-), does anybody know about the evolution of steering racks in the old L-series wagons (and their predecessors)? The local wrecker has a couple of older EA-81 wrecks - is it possible to substitue one of the racks from these? Also, any tips on not picking a crap one? The other solution is to hand over >A$500! Ouch! That's all the car itself is worth! Cheers, James :-)
  2. Hi! I'm new to the forum, so please forgive me if I screw something up in the posting process...! In short, I've got no idea (sorry!), but I had exactly the same thing happen to me on my carbed '83 Brumby (Brat) after some drunk moron ran into the back of me a few months ago. She stalled soon after the collision, and upon restarting her, ran like a dog until I gave her full throttle for a period - then - no problem. I've never seen the problem since... weird. Cheers, James :-)
