    EVOthis Re: 2010 Outback :D

i hate the chryslers ,but i like the 2010 subie ,my fiancee said its ugly too ,she says its too square :( .......... guess i wont be getting one *whimper*

  2. hi,I have an 04 obw. and for some reason the intermitent wipers are not working.they worked fine then one day they just stopped.the wipers work if i pull the arm down to fast.and the little dail still seems to work fo the rear.is it the little arm switch or th wiper engine??? or??? and is it easily fixed?

I have a warenty but if i can fix it easily myself i would rather do so. and not pay the deductable. any help?

  3. NV ZenoA good way to tell a local in Tahoe is look for a dog in the car (I think dogs inside a car is disgusting, but that's another discussion:rolleyes: )..most tourists leave their dogs home.

There are many other telltales, too.

You may have spotted me, I'm in the blue EA81 wagon..brush guard, ski rack, multicolored hood (NO DOG)..and I spend a fair amount of time down in South Shore.

    Just my 2 bucks

Now that is very true about the dogs.I take my golden retriver in my old gl.because my outback has leather and they would poke holes.Another way too tell is missing hubcaps, broken grilles, keep tahoe blue or snow board stikers covering the entire back windows and (no offense)multi colors.Btw I think I have seen your ru before Zero.

No offense was intended towards you or other board members... could just be the tourists, but i call it how i see it... I've lived down the hill from tahoe for a while and am up there a couple times a month. As far as yachts go, keep 'em. I'd rather have my 16 foot Zodiac behind an old school soob anyday. :headbang:

Thats ok.I'm sure you weren't try to offend Tahoe,It just sounded bad.lol

well, locals out here in montana have the cargo boxes. work great for those long trips to the montains, keeping the road grime off freshly tuned boards/skis.

We use them to blue. But locals (at least anyone I know) dont drive around with them while not on a trip.So you are right we do use them but mosrly when going somewhere.we don't drive around with them all the time.

As for the original topic,I would say seatle IS the best place in the us for older ru's.Tahoe has alot but mostly 95 or newer. And it's hard to find a nice gl/loyale without it needing alot of work.

  5. I think the ej 25 is whats in my 04.And the ej22 is in my 99.the ej25 has way more power if you ask me.And I had many probs with the ej22 yet no probs whatsoever with my 04.It is the source of arguement here wheather the ej22 or ej25 is better.I personaly want nothing to do with 22's others on here want nothing to do with 25's.Also the leather in my 04 is similar to an obwl.I love the leather, and prob will never buy another without it.I would buy that if I were you.If you found a mint obl you should buy it as it's prob way more reliable than taking a doner car and puting an engine in another car.

  6. I don't know what it's like in WI, but around here, there are plenty of Subies on the road. There just aren't any for sale though. Most people around here who own Subies, keep them longer than they keep thier cousins as wives.:-p

Rofl, there are many newer model ru's on the road here(Tahoe) too but as you said few are for sale and most that are, are beat.

    Silverfox,

to be honest I don't know a lot about engines. However if the 2.2 was made for that model car, in that year.It should bolt right up. The engines for 96's are called ej22's.If you could find (or already found) an ej22 2.2 I would think it's the exact same bolt pattern. When you have it out I recomend you change the timing belts and head gaskets though, that way it should be very reliable and save you time and money later. But why do you want the smaller engine?

  7. I told you it took me weeks to find my 04 silver obwl. But why do you want the smaller engine? I think my outback is the 2.2 its' an h4.Does anybody know if it is? I was looking for the big engine(h6) but gave up because I coulden't find a loaded obw in silver with that size engine and low miles. I also had to drive 150 miles to get mine. But thats fun to me.

There are alot of subies in your area.Did you try refineing the seach for obw or gl? The page I sent you was just impys.

  8. Searched yahoo autos for you.Found some but there about 200 miles away.

    see link.

I bought my 04 obw on there a while back.It took me three weeks or so to find the perfect one I wanted. It searches local dealers and pparty ads.hope that helps.

  9. Like/Dislike has nothing to do with it. The engines are junk-o-rama. Once you have owned a few and aren't wet behind the ears anymore, you too will relegate them to past where they belong.
Uhm we have been though this,I won't regret my ea82s.Please don't start that again.
Awesome - take em all. Have a blast using up the remaining stock of HG's for them.
Mabey I will,Although I've never had nor any of my friends had probs with hgs on ea82s.

Just cause you don't like ea82s doesent mean you have to bash people who do.Yes I like ea82s.I've had ea82s,an ej22 and an ej25.I'm not a fan of ej22's because the one I had was nothing but trouble and blew it's hgs.But I don't bash ej22's.My first ea82 went close to 300000 then the city would'nt pass it for smog, but it was still running. The replacement engine (ea82) has had no issues. I have and have had friends who have similar story's.I don't know about where you live but here it's hard to find an ea82 in a junk yard without 200000 or so miles on it.That tells me there good cars/engines.And I'm sure many subie fans would agree.
