  1. I have the same problem with my 2005 Baja and I’m getting sick of smelling it. My service advisor said it was cosmoline and according to him it is a common problem. If you take it in, please let us know what the outcome is.
  2. Thanks Strakes and NewKens1. This is a real pain in the ______ We go down to 5 ½ hour total daylight in December.
  3. 2005 Baja Sport I opened my glove box today and noticed the bulb wasn’t illuminated, so I installed a new lamp and it still doesn’t light. As I was leaving the parts store, I turned the parking lights on and then headlights. The lamp in the glove box came on each time! I’ve never owned a vehicle where you had to have the headlights on for a glove box or any interior courtesy light to work! This leads me to believe they most likely wired the glove box harness to the wrong fuse position or something at the factory. Or, this is by design to keep the battery from being drained if the box is left opened. Please check your 05 Baja or Legacy to see if the glove box lamp lights only when the headlamps are on. Please post back with your findings. Thanks BTW, this is my first Subaru.
