  1. Even if it does say GL-10 it may or may not be a turbo.

From the front view (pics), I don't think there is anything that will tell you if it's a turbo.

Unless he has a pic from under the hood??? :brow:

A GL 4X4 with a manual is not a bad thing without the turbo

    Good Luck,

i agree its not bad... but for my purposes i need the turbo. I want to build a cheap beast and use some spare wrx parts i have lying around.

  2. Hi guys.

I am HOPEFULLY going to buy this car on saturday. The kid apparrently doesn't know much about his dad's car which is mostly why i'm going to look at it before just giving him the money. He says its a "gl 4x4 with a manual trans" in his description and he has pictures that don't show the sides or back... just two angles of the front.

He says he thinks its the turbo version with the D/R tranny... but he didn't seem to know anything about the car really. I asked about the diff lock and he just got puzzled.

To sum up. If it doesn't say gl-10 is it N/A?

  3. So what is the difference between an RX and a GL-10 turbo awd sedan? are they pretty much the same thing?

How about the trannys? Im looking for one to build up for drag purposes... it only has to last a few runs since the car is going to be reeeally cheap. I have a couple of options. One is a fulltime awd 5spd the other is a pt awd 5spd. Is the awd in the PT better for launches?

How about the DR does that work like in a jeep where you have a lever to pull?

Is there a hi/low/ button on the shifter? What EXACTLY happens with the high/low? is there a different center diff setting? different final drive ratio?

thanks for your answers... the engine stuff i think i have under control.. I'm going to go with the stock internals, disable fuel cut, set up a pressure switch to power another injector which i will install after my wrx IC. I will also be using a TD04 to be set to 15.5 psi. I will then try my luck with that setup (i'm going to be using a ghetto dual stage mbc so i can only use the high-boost setup when i need it), and stick in another injector later on and try running 19 psi with race / high octane fuel... i think at that point stock fuel system might be maxed.

If the car makes it this far, i will either sell off all the parts or try something like upgrading the fuel system to accommodate more injectors and go to a vf22 or 34 hehe.
