I am thinking of buying a 2000 or 2001 Forester 5-speed. I love the way the car drives. It's not bulky like other SUVs or minivans but still provides lots of versatility. I have some questions that the sales-person at the dealer could not give me an answer to. Maybe someone can answer them. Is there a difference in the suspension on the S and the L model? I read (on edmunds.com) that the S comes with a heavy duty suspension, but I haven't been able to find any information on this and the sales person didn't know anything about it. Since I will be towing a small boat plus gear, I could use what ever extra the heavy duty suspension gives. Also, I really like the large moonroof available on the 2001 Forester. Was this a standard feature on the 2001 S or is it an option? Was it was available with the 5-speed? Thanks.
