well.... I did disconnect the battery as promised for hour and a half and sure enough ....nothing changed Please...Write if you have ever heard why the middle lights (the door open info, the gear info, and the power and manual lights)might be out....even if you have a thought on what it might be

WTF......I have the same goddamn thing i can't figure out what it is but the AC lurches at highway speeds. I bought the car in the summer and drove it for the first time on a 300 mile drive back to my house...unforntunently it was 97 degrees out and the AC did that...my first drive in the damn thing. I have never tried to completly disconect the battery but i have lots of electrical problems that seem like they could be alliviated by that....do I just pull the positive or both and how long do i leave disconnected. Thanks for info

4EAT only anybody had the syptoms of torque bind on pre 95 legs, only to find out that it was a soleinoid of some sort. I am having the symptoms and a bad 2 - 3 shift so I think thats what it may be let me know if you have delt with this

well see all of the lights in the middle of the tach and speedo are out .....ie... the car that says what doors are open, the thing that says what gear I am in and the manual and power button. The only thing in the middle that does work is the high beam indicator on the car. I was trying to do your diagnostic test and realized I needed to fix this problem first. Is there a fuse for all the lights on the whole dash or just what I listed?

just curious anybody know of a way to check the TCU for fault codes on a 4EAT without being able to look at the power button. For some reason the button doens't light and I don't know which fuse it uses although i checked every fuse. If you know which fuse it is that would be helpfull too.

THE car is a 1990 legacy L with the 4EAT ok so....I have many problems with the car although I somehow fear that some are related 1)does anybody know (other then a fuse) what could be causing the lighting behind the center section of the dash to go out...(specifically .....the indicator of the car doors being open, what gear I am in, and the power and manual buttons) None of these work at any time however when I use the high beams they show up on the picture of the car. 2) I need 1 fixed so I can move to two... I want to perform legacy777's self diagonostic test but am unable to considering nither the manual or power lights come on. The reason I want to do this is becuase of the 2-3 shift goes like this: being let out of 2 ...then seconds later dropped into 3. No change in rpm's btw...just what would otherwise be normal. I thought this might be soleiniod B becuase I also have problems with the TC where it feels like the tranny is fighting itself at low speeds when starting to accelerate. and sometimes under hard acceleration it feels like the transmission is slipping so if that helps diagnose. 3) anybody ever have issues where the doors lock automatically when opening the drivers door??? I can stop this by holding it open but it is annoying that it does that...plus the rear doors almost open ..then lock so that you have to unluck them agian to open fully ( the part about the doors is from the inside only!) Also both the dome light and the light by the fusebox seem to have moods..(as in...they sometimes work properly sometimes just go in and out...I can't figure out what is triggering them) just in case anybody has ran into that problem.
