  1. our 91 Legacy idles at 1000 to 1200 most of the time. And is really rough on start up. And extremely rough and surges when you turn on the AC. so far I think im looking at replacing the knock sensor, and maybe some new O rings for the injectors. Then maybe the TPS. Read somwhere that I should clean the Air control valve...where is it located?
  2. ok. Where is the air control valve I need to clean. I sprayed the TB with some cleaner and reset the PCM. has been a day and still no check angine light. It is running better, but still stumbles a bit on startup, but idles smooth if you blip the throttle. It is idleing at around 1000 to 1200. is that normal? Now when we turn on the AC (wich doesn't get very cold, needs a recharge) the car idles very low and surges. Im sure if I leave the ac on I will get some code, but I have kept it off. Could the bad knock sensor cause this. I also noticed that it sounds like it is pinging under acceleration. before the reset I had codes 14, 16, 22 and 24. for two injector signals being out of whack, and the other two codes were for the knock sensor and the air control valve.
  3. New to subies..but when our 91 legacy runs the crank pullet kinda turns a lil out of whack, like, swirls around, kinda like it's bent, is this normal? I don't know how anyone could bend the end of the crank.
  4. Hey guys, my girl drives a 91 Legacy with the multi-point injected engine. When it first starts up and when coming to a stop, the idle fluctuates from 1000 almost down to zero, and it stumbles, real rough. I hooked up the black connectors and got these codes: 14 Injector #1 inoperative... (though all cylinders are firing) 16 Injector #3 inoperative... 22 Knock sensor abnormal voltage produced in knock sensor monitor cicuit sets in regular fuel map and retards ignition timing XX 24 Air control valve inoperative. Now....what do I need to replace or clean? Havent run the other diagnostic test yet, with the green connectors. Any help would be great.
