I believe it will be 120 or 130 HP. If anyone has an electrical Diagram for the engine and what it needs to run (bare bones I would take it) that would be REALLY REALLY great.

**Looks like there maybe some guages involved like water temp, oil pressure and all that jazz...thanks!!

The good ones (old ones that were non-interference) aren't that hard to find in a junkyard. Usually the cars are wrecked or have an automatic transmission.

I think your best bet though would be to buy a whole car. Then you can get the engine, all the wiring, the computer, etc.. Everything needed to make the engine run would be there for the taking, and when you have what you need you part out the car and sell the rest to a scrap yard. Like a scrap metal yard, not a junk yard. And you can sometimes get more if you strip it first. It makes less work for the recyclers.

I have the engine and a box of wires, I need a schematic to hook it up into the hoverwing, so I know like pink and red with yellow strip are for the tach...my grounds etc...

You'll need to know what year it is. Most of the repair manuals have the wiring as well.

You want the Vanagon section, as they have to strip down to the basic wiring as well. Search there as well.
