noticed a wire tapped into the coil pack and running though fire wall to some where inside , car runs fine mpg is 23 city , idles fine ,etc.. just wondering why it is there, 2000 legacy wagon a/t awd, 108,000mi thanks

Maybe for an after market tachometer? Any strange holes drilled in the dash board inside? Is there a tach in the cluster?
