i have a 1986 gl ea82 wagon...its got the muffler off the turbo model, which is a bit dented bus still sounds pretty good. i was wondering if i should keep that muffler, or maybe put on a cherry bomb glass pack? would that get me more horsepower? do they sound ok on subarus? im very new to these cars.

cherry bomb....sounds nice on a subaru....thats what i've got on my Brumby/Brat

it will help to breathe in the 3500 rpm range. not too loud unless you get on it, but not obnoxious at all for regualar driving

 

you can bump up the timing a few degrees.

 

i cant say its more horsepower, but doing so will move your torque curve up 500 to 1000 rpm, sacrificing the low rom torque, but easier breathing at higher rpm. perfect for highway speeds!

 

 

 

There's what I want to do, next exhaust. Mid-pipe is a resonator, tailpipe is available too. I want no more Bosal, they pinch and choke the pipes to death. I've discovered Walker for these cars, and they do a much better job. With tailpipe too, this system is $141.00, plus shipping.

ideally you will want to install the cherry bomb in place of the resonator, and run straight pipe after that

Rock Auto. Try 1986 GL carb. That gives you the resonator instead of the cat on the mid pipe. The muffler is 2" ID, most arent, if you really look at them.

 

I've never seen these pieces in person and can't vouch for them.

 

But If you order them, I'd appreciate your impression of them.

PS-As you will see, they only have so many of them left.

i glass packed mine sounds sweet especially at idle when my carb was effed up. sounded like it had 292 cams in it haha. its pretty loud but its bad rump roast
