I am working on a 2000 outback EL25 2.5L engine. I have removed the heads from the engine and I need to have the heads resurfaced. Before I can do this I need to remove the camshaft assembly from the head. My questions are as follows:

can I remove the camshaft assembly as one complete unit?

Do I need to remove the 8 stars bolts and the 8 allen wrench bolts that hold the two assemblies together?

Is there a pattern for unbolting and what is the torque for reassembly?

Any RTV required on reassembly?
