January 1, 201016 yr It is a 5 speed with the 1.8. motor. It has the manual 4 wheel drive shifter. (Not the Push button) 4 sheel drive low 4 wheel drive high and normal fwd. The problem is when it is in normal fwd. Power is transmitted intermittently from the left front wheel to the right front wheel. It is so bad under acceleration it shakes the steering wheel. When I am crusing it is fine. Does not make any funny noises. When it is in 4 wheel drive high under acceleration, no shaking at all, it is normal. Researching ideas here. thanks
January 1, 201016 yr what's the story of the CV axles? ever been replaced, ever had bad boots, etc? i can't think of why it would "switch" sides though. ever had any trans work done? has the gear oil ever been replaced or even checked?
January 1, 201016 yr your spider gears may be shot causing alternate power deliverey. I would check your gear lube for metal shavings.
January 1, 201016 yr Sounds like bad outer joint on one or both axles. Very Unlikely that there is a diff problem.
