January 1, 201016 yr Hello all, first day and first post. Farkin' newbie questions... I'm not much of a pavement guy and I still have no idea how to haul rump roast on the road. I prefer dirt! Anyway, I have been working with a few Nippon engines. All EJ 20's and all different. What I'd like to know is how to find out a bit more about each engine. Running serial #'s and the like. Is there a site that I can type in the ID #'s and get year of manufacture? That would be a start I guess.. TIA
January 4, 201016 yr Welcome to the USMB. Unfortunately, no there's not a site to my knowledge where you can type in the serial numbers. Are the engines you're looking at US engines or from overseas?

January 4, 201016 yr dealers are going to be your best source for what year is a particular engine. this assumes that they have a cross reference list. i would look here: http://opposedforces.com/parts you will have to start with a year and move on to the car and then engine, but it shouldn't take long to figure out as long as a ej20b comes after a ej20a or what ever the numbers are.

None of the engines I have have any post # identifications. They are all marked as EJ20's. No B, C etc etc.

No B, C etc etc. all of the ejs i have seen here in the US have a vin # etched in the block on the passenger side mid point where it meets the trans. that should id them. quote> Anyway, I have been working with a few Nippon engines. January 4, 201016 yr Author There are serial #'s on each block, but they do not identify them as EJ20C or B or A. (Maybe I should take a closer look!) :-\
