Durania
After doing some searching, I seem to have found the cause of my sticky rev issue at cold startup. If I don't give the car about 2 or 3 minutes of sitting idling it will hang rpms when I push the clutch in and make shifting annoying and difficult. Whats the best way to clean this thing on my car? I cleaned the one on my 91 Legacy and it seemed pretty straight forward. I believe it is the piece on top of my throttle body that meets the intake manifold. Thanks, Kyle
Legacy777
The IAC on these motors are a little plunger type thing. You can just remove it and clean the carbon and other gunk off it. Clean the area around the TB that you removed it from. If you move the plunger around, when you first start the car the rpms will probably rev up until the stepper motor resets itself to maintain the proper idle speed.
