EA82 tranny crossmember mounting behind radius rods in EA81 vehicle.

Featured Replies

Ok, before I get the "search is your friend" schpeil, I searched, posted in a

thread, and got no answers.

So I'm asking in my own thread.

Is it possible to mount an EA82 tranny crossmember with the bolts located

inside the radius rod mount "boxes".

And if I cut these, will it destabilize my suspension?

If I cut them, then reinforce them, will my suspension be ok?

And, does anybody know if putting the EA82 crossmember in will cause the

engine and tranny to sit at funky angles?

You know you can just cut the ends off a 5 speed crossmember and drill the holes to bolt it into the stock location... Its a hell of a lot easier and safer.

I figured I could do that, but I wanted to keep as many vibration dampening

materials as possible.

If I need to, I'll just do that, but I just wanted to see if anyone had done it.

And to see if cutting that box will destabilize anything.
