are the driveshafts the same length between the 2 tranny's? or do i need a driveshaft from a 5-speed wagon?

Yep, gonna need a driveshaft. The 5 speed tranny isn't quite as long as the auto, so it takes a longer shaft.

well guess i need to start looking for a donor car.. bah.. if the damn wagon wasn't so nice, i'd junk it...

actually, the FRONT half of the driveshaft is the only thing different in length between the 2. keep that in mind if u joints go out, just replace the rear half

if you want to try using the auto. a little long find a nother core and drain the front diff and fill it with lucas it should help. lucas actually climbs the gear wear gear oil just kinda sits there just a thought

I have just bought a 94 Loyale 4x4 wagon with the gutless 3 speed auto. Is there a site that explain how to swap a 5 speed in?

well me thinks i just scored a FREE pushbutton 4wd 5-speed wagon.. has everything i need to convert mine.. gotta get it before they tow it. car has no engine so pullin the trans is easier..

 

guess i'll have to do a little writeup on how its done, take pics, etc.. might be good for the usmb repair manual..

 

trick is gettin rid of the chassis when i'm done with it, lol..

make sure to get all the electricals that go with the pushbutton mechanism

hmm, should be the same electicals that are on it now with the 3at pushbutton shouldn't it? i know i gotta get the shifter with the button..
