February 28, 201016 yr Cool to see an EA drivetrain standing up to that sort of use. Gives me hope for my Brat. And a great endorsement for welded diffs.
March 2, 201016 yr Cool to see an EA drivetrain standing up to that sort of use. Gives me hope for my Brat. And a great endorsement for welded diffs. That's an EJ drivetrain. Its got what looks like an EJ25 or EJ20 on the front with a 4EAT right behind it. And I'm pretty sure he had open all the way around... Twitch
March 4, 201016 yr engine is turbocharged twin cam and I belive it si EJ20 the transmition and drive train is from EA81 and it is automatic and you can see some off the interior from EA81
March 4, 201016 yr engine is turbocharged twin cam and I belive it si EJ20the transmition and drive train is from EA81 and it is automatic and you can see some off the interior from EA81 The tranny is a Legacy 4EAT, the 3AT's have a different shifter, and it didn't have an adapter plate between the engine and the tranny. I'm not sure what the axles are from, but they would have to be modified axles and are more than likely EA82 axles and hubs, because as far as I know EA82 and EJ are the only one's I know of that are 25 spline. Unless somebody custom made axles with components from all of the above. And AFAIK, EJ autos are only 25 spline and I pretty sure you can't swap diff stubs on autos. Anyway, rant over, and it was a pretty cool vid. Twitch
April 14, 201114 yr I don't suppose anyone ever found anymore video/pics/info on this thing? I found it on youtube this morning and have been searching ever since. A small UTV built from a subaru is my goal. At least welding the rear diff is a must though.
