Local shop just recommended this. However another shop a while back told me not to worry about it because they said they had never seen one fail. Just wondering if anybody could explain it to me a little better. Is it something that should be replaced if recommended? This shop that just recommended it is the second shop over the years to tell me to get it done. What are the implications if not done? Just trying to understand. Thanks.

It might have some play by now, but otherwise if it breaks it will not be a safety hazzard but the car will be a bit more jelloy in the turns.

Are you talking swaybar endlink/s?

If so don't worry about it. It might make the car handle a little bit different but probably won't be that noticeable.
