April 5, 201016 yr Hi all, Just found this forum while looking for an answer to my question, but I may well stick around as it looks good! I've got a 99/00 3rd gen legacy BH5 GTB 5spd manual (JDM yO...) and am getting a bad knocking/clunking when going round tighter corners at low speeds. As its a manual and only when warmed up I'm pretty sure its my VC on its way out. My question is, are the VCs interchangeable between any imprezas/forresters, etc and my leggy? The Legacy was never formally released over here (I'm in the UK) until the later BP/BL series, so getting hold of one from a BH isnt that easy... Cheers!
April 5, 201016 yr In '99 Subaru switched over to a new VC and as far as I know the '99 and newer couplings are the same; '98 and older VCs are the same. Search around; there was a good thread on this last year when I was looking for a replacement VC for our '99 Forester.
