Gas guage question on 93 IMP

Have a 93 impreza 5 door with AWD,just picked it up a couple weeks ago.Gas guage not registering.I dont have a service manual or owners manual yet.Want to check fuses first and then try other stuff.Anyone know which fuse # to check and where located?Other ideas if that is not the problem?Thanks Jim p.s. i've only put about 3 gallons of gas in car so far=should register with that or do I add more?

3 gals would probably put it at the E mark.

 

P.S. Reading the owners handbook too might help, if it came with one.
