Hello all,

Tyler here,

I finally got my Subaru Wagon. Its an 89 Subaru GL wagon with an ea82 engine...a little slow but I love it! Not sure if I want to swap the engine (advice)

178,000 miles, new water pump, newer clutch, new gaskets, new timing belt and newer brakes. No rips or tears or even minor dents...ok so i lied, theres a little one in the back, no major rust too for 1000$! :) not sure if it was a good deal or not but I wanted a wagon so bad and had been looking so long. Theres a lot of older subaru's here in Reno due to Lake Tahoe being so close but all the ones I had looked at, werent in very good condition. It needs a new bumper but, eh! Might put a little lift on it for offroading season and what not. It should be a fun wagon. here's a couple pictures of it. My girlfriends dad owns a detail shop so I got engine cleaned, a wax, polish, all of the upholestry was cleaned...

ps there is rust on the bottom fenders below the doors. any advice on how to get rid of it?

um..how do i post pictures???

Welcome. I think there are quite a few members in NV - hopefully they will speak up. If you can - think about going to WCSS12 in August (do a search for info) as there are great people at these shows!

I like it for $1000 I think you did ok with you purchase. Welcome and if It has new gaskets and timming belt I'd prolly just run the EA82. Hey, you even have alloys on it.

Looks good! Brings back nice memories. Best of luck with her--enjoy the ride!

Welcome! Nice looking Wagon! $1000? Looks like you did well! You'll have all kinds of info at your fingertips here to fix/modify or do what ever you want to your soob!

Seriousy - there will be people who come up from NV for WCSS12 - you should form up a caravan.

A caravan I think is a great idea...I'll look more into it. I'm a poor college student with a subaru addiction on the rise...I feel a caravan would be cheaper and way more fun. let me get back to this after this month when the semester is finally over. :)
