How to remove crankshaft position sensor

Featured Replies

I am trying to solve a problem where I have no pulse to the fuel injectors. A couple of people have said that my crankshaft position sensor may be bad. I have removed the bolt that holds it down, but it sure doesn't want to come out. Is there any trick to it, or do you have to break it apart to remove it.

P.S. I have checked the resistance of the crankshaft position sensor and it checks out ok. Has anyone ever checked the output signal with an oscilliscope. If so, what should the signal look like?

Thanks

It should come out upwards once the bolt has been removed. It could be quite stuck though. Try to give it some turning and pulling upwards. I would not spray anything on it because it is nearly directly above the timing belt (where for sure you don't want oil on).
