soobenthusiast
I am looking at a 94 Legacy wagon for sale, it looks decent, and only only 152,000 miles, but there are a couple issues I was wondering about. The first is that it needs a clutch, but this isn't very hard is it? The thing that really makes me wonder is the seller says there is a somewhat loud ticking sound coming from the motor and she drove it like that for 6 months before the clutch went out. I was wondering what could be causing this sound and whether it is a serious issue.
Fairtax4me
If they drove it for 6 months and it didn't throw a rod through the block then it's probably the lifters. A half quart of MMO or ATF in the next oil change, or switching to synthetic oil might cure it. If not they're not hard to replace. It could also be an exhaust leak up next to the heads.
