Featured Replies

ok i have a 99 leg outback and of course the 2.5 needs head gaskets but also the trans slips bad in first gear, what are my options for a trans, i would really like to go to a 5 spd what bolts up to it, apparently for this year subi theres a trans break ie different trans mid year?, if not the car may have to sit until i figure out what to do with it. thanks

for the trans, you might try some Trans-X additive. others have had good luck with it in 99s. from a couple of recent posts it seems that earlier is better for stopping the "slow to engage" in the 99 auto trans which is a known problem.

search "trans-x" and read up on it. there is an especially long thread with success stories.
