Road trip!!!

Featured Replies

So I'm making a trip down to the Astoria area, and wouldn't mind if I happened

to meet some Subaru people while I'm down there :)

I'll be staying in the fort clatsop campground (I think that's the name of it),

right off the coast.

I think I'll be taking the BRAT, so if there's anybody willing to assist if I have any issues, that would be GREAT.

Anyway, I'll be leaving thursday, and I'll be there all weekend.

Much thanks my friend :)

It'll be a white, rusty 2nd Gen, might have a canopy, might not.

PS: The only part I suspect I may have issues is on my beach cruise :D

Hey, just got my route completely figured out, I'll be going down Highway 395 from I-90, to I-82, then to I-84 across to Highway 101. So, is there anybody hiding along my route? (Indrid Cold, I know you're on my route :) )

PS: I just looked at the Northwest Folks thread and a few of you should at

least pop in :-p

if you took hwy 30 it would be faster then 101 and u would be passing by sube 4x4 and a few others including myself

Ok, thanks, so I'd basically follow the columbia, right?

At least that's what the map shows...

From the dry-cities I head down Columbia on Oregon side, take 205 North to I-5 and jump over at Longview and catch hwy-30 but I-5 Highway is screaming along so another trip, I did take HWY-30 out of Portland and that was a nice drive as it wasn't the huge free-way, good wide road, pleasant and my tom-tom made navigating easy to get to hwy-30.

Besides if you do Hwy-30 you can stop by St. Helens and see where they filmed some of the, "Twilight" movie.... I took my teen girl to all the film spots (house, dress shop, alley, Bloated Toad,) ... I am, the best dad in the whole world! but I guess your probably NOT into THAT:mad:.. so just drive by...

Yes you would be followin the columbia, I fand it pretty scenic. But 101 is scenic too you get to see cannon beach and what not

We really need to think about getting the northwest folks together for a nice beach meet. Ocean Shores or somewhere around there.

Well, make room in your schedule for this weekend and I'll already be down

there

How about Canon Beach?

Or maybe Seaside, its closer.

Twitch

that does sound nice but cant drive on those beaches though. but definately we need another meet.

p.s twitch do you need any gen 1 brat parts? im partin out my wrecked one

  • Author

True, but you can drive on the beaches around fort stevens (that's the name

of the campground, not clatsop, my bad), and they aren't too bad.

I've seen a couple FWD cars out and about in there, just not too far out.

Thanks for the offer, but I got out of first Gen's a while back.

Unless a car gets given to me, I'm not likely to be needing any parts

Anybody else need parts?

Phone number posted below...

Oh, and before I go, which will be soon, I'm posting up my phone number, so if

anybody wants to contact me, they can.

Remember though, I'll be driving through WA in a noisy BRAT with a bluetooth

speakerphone, so it may be difficult to talk while driving.

If i can't understand you or its too irritating for you to talk to me, I'll call you

back at the next rest stop, or munchies stop :)
