July 21, 201015 yr i have a 97 legacy and we just changed the head gaskets now there is no spark we pulled the car into the driveway and can not figgure out why there is no spark everything is hooked up correctly checked and rechecked does anyone know if there is a security feature that would disable the spark?
July 21, 201015 yr Usually an alarm just kills the starter. I know you said you hooked everything up. But you double checked the cam and crank sensors are plugged in correctly? There isn't a whole lot that will stop the spark. Also, if you have a code reader (I think everyone that has a subaru damn well should), check for codes, easy stuff first.
July 21, 201015 yr You didn't specify which model, so we don't know if you have a 2.2L or 2.5L DOHC. Assuming the timing belt installation is correct, verify that the cam sprockets aren't swapped in position left to right. Only the left (driver's side) cam sprocket has reluctors on the back for the cam position sensor, so wrong placement results in no spark.
