engine removal

Featured Replies

hello, im pulling a twin turbo jb20 out of my subaru, i have everything loose, and the engine is about 1n inch away from the bell housing, but something is still holding it, any ideas?

Auto or manual.

If its auto did you remove the bolts that hold the flywheel to the torque converter?

If its a manual, are the motor mounts still in the crossmember? they can keep the engine from sliding forward, use the factory jack to raise the front of the transmission up about 3 inches.

5 speed? Did you pull out the clutch cross shaft? Take out the starter, pull out the 10mm allen plug in the bellhousing, thread in an 8mm bolt and use that to pull the shaft out.
